Pick The Brain

  1. Grin and bear it. Sometimes there will be times when your energy levels are off or something else happens in your life forcing you to put your dreams on hold for a just a bit.
  2. Take a time-out. You never know when the idea you need to bridge the gap between your current reality and your dreams will be found. But sometimes you need to give yourself the space to find it.
  3. Assess whether your current plans are realistic. Maybe your dreams aren't coming true by the deadlines you set because your deadlines were unrealistic to begin with.
  4. Get support.
  5. Play a game called "15 Ways..." This is a little game I like to play whenever I get stuck on how to break through barriers in achieving goals. Grab a sheet of paper and brainstorm 15 ways you can overcome whatever obstacle is standing in between you and your goals.
  6. Pick a hero. Who in your mind is a noteworthy person you would like to emulate in life?  Tack a picture of them on your wall.
  7. Go out and execute every day. If you're done with your time out, then commit to doing one thing for your dreams everyday, no matter how small it is.

Life Hack

  1. Schedule regular social activities.
  2. Follow a fitness plan. Apart from all the physical benefits of exercise, you'll enjoy the mental satisfaction of knowing that you're taking good care of yourself again.
  3. Pursue a hobby. Pick a hobby that has little or nothing to do with what you spend most of your week doing and pursue it with passion!
  4. Volunteer. Nothing brightens the soul or warms the senses like giving to another for no reason other than to give.
  5. Write a manifesto. Have you forgotten what you want out of life?
  6. Ask for help. Whether your struggle is with a particular part of a project or with something general, like time management, asking for help will get you to a solution faster than you could ever hope to alone.
  7. Make others laugh. Humor keeps us sane even through the most stressful of circumstances.
  8. Make an escape list. An "escape list" is a list of everything you'd need to do in order to escape a situation that's driving you nuts.
  9. Embrace a morning ritual. Set your alarm a few minutes earlier than usual and spend the "extra" time sitting in a sunny spot in your living room with a cup of coffee and a good book.
  10. Stop making excuses. The fix? Accept responsibility for your part of the problems that plague you.
  11. Be accountable. Accountability is something we're all familiar with but rarely put into useful practice. You can use accountability to drive your personal development and avoid burnout.

  50. Learn intervention techniques. In the event that someone you know is struggling with addiction, this is a way to help them get over it and empower themselves to get back on track.

Zen Habits

  1. Find contentment in your current life. – Much of the reason we are unable to find adequate rest is because we are under the constant impression that our lives can and should be better than they are today.
  2. Plan your rest. Rest will come only from intentional planning and planning rest will come only if it is truly desired.
  3. Take responsibility for your life. You are not a victim of your time demands. You are the creator and acceptor of them.
  4. Embrace simplicity. Embrace a lifestyle that focuses on your values, not your possessions.
  5. Include your family. It is much easier to practice the discipline of concentrated rest if your family is practicing it too.
  6. Live within your income. A debtor is a slave to his creditor. It is difficult to find rest for your mind when you are deep in debt.
  7. Realize the shallow nature of a results-oriented culture. If you live in a results-oriented culture where productivity alone is championed on every corner, rest is counter-cultural.

Pick The Brain

  1. Discover why you were created. Everything created solves a problem. You were created to solve a problem, and your success in life is dependent on your ability to find that problem and solve it.
  2. Commit to be a Success. Success begins with a decision.
  3. Have Faith in Your Possibilities. If you don't believe you're going to succeed, then ...you're probably right. Faith in your possibilities is what gives you the strength to do the impossible.
  4. Keep Your Life in Balance. What good is it to be wealthy and have no one to share your wealth with?
  5. Help Others. To have "small" success, help a small number of people. To have great success, you must help a great number of people. Your success is dependent on your ability to help others.
