In the meantime, here are a few steps you can take to get you started down the right path to healthy living:

  1. Only drink purified water. A good rule of thumb is to drink half of your body weight in ounces per day. Next time you feel hungry, reach for your water first and see if that doesn't satisfy the craving.
  2. Get a water purifier for your shower head. Your skin is your largest organ – protect it!
  3. Organically grown is always best. If you can't get to a local farmer's market, cruise the outside perimeter of your supermarket. The inside isles really don't have much to offer in terms of nutritional value.
  4. Stay away from packaged foods. They are usually high in preservatives and lack the nutritional value that your body needs.
  5. Snack. In addition to your 3 meals a day, you should be snacking throughout the day.
  6. Get plenty of Z's. About 8 hours of sleep each night is ideal.
  7. Exercise. Last but not least, 20-30 minutes of exercise each day will keep you looking and feeling your best.

  1. Determine Your Goals. The first thing to consider when you're learning how to set priorities is to determine what your goals and priorities are.
  2. Get Clear. State your goals as simply as you can. While you don't want to leave out details, you also don't want to be too wordy and confuse yourself in the future.
  3. Learn How to Balance. Chances are that you've got many different goals and priorities. Learning how to balance them all is just a part of life. If you pay too much attention to one priority, your others may begin to suffer.
  4. Get Organized. Organization is also key when you're learning how to set priorities.
  5. Realize that You Can't Do Everything. After you get organized with your priority lists, you might be tempted to have your attention on too many things at once.
  6. Keep Your Focus. Strive to remain focused on your priorities.
  7. Keep Your Enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is very important to setting priorities. If you're not jazzed up about your goals, you may end up losing interest.
  8. Reward Yourself. It's important to reward yourself for setting priorities and following through. If you've made an achievement towards a priority or goal, don't just cross it off your list and move on to the next thing. Take some time out to reward yourself for a job well done. You deserve it!

Get To The Root

  • Many times you might find that you're having trouble concentrating because your mind is too busy.
  • Identify the reasons why you're having trouble clearing your mind. You could be over thinking a certain issue. Maybe you need to solve that issue before you move on in life.
  • Once you have your reasons, you can ask yourself why those reasons are standing in the way of you and a clutter free life.

Relaxation Techniques

Try some or all of the following in order to relax and clear your mind:

  1. Unwind. Many people report a racing mind in the evening when they're trying to rest. Others will have a racing mind at other points during the day. This is likely because they're not taking time to unwind.
  2. Meditation. Meditation is a great way to get rid of clutter in your mind. Try making time for a meditative practice for 30 minutes in the morning or in the evening. It's time where you can concentrate on your breath alone and none of your other problems can touch you.
  3. Yoga. Yoga is a good choice for people who want to combine some physical fitness along with clearing the mind.

Becoming Clutter Free

  • If your goal is to simply declutter your life, you can do that too. You can work on the clutter of your mind by concentrating on all of your problems one by one.

How To Keep A Clear Mind

  • Your last step is to work on keeping a clear mind. Once you've mastered how to clear your mind, you need to make sure that you don't fall back into any bad patterns. Be sure to check in with yourself every now and then to make sure you haven't picked up any bad habits.

Visualizing Action, Not Outcome

  • A lot of self-development people say that you need to fully visualize your outcome if you want to reach it.
  • Instead of visualizing the outcome, you’ll have more success with your goals if you visualize yourself taking action that leads you toward your goal.

Action Provides Its Own Rewards

  • Many people talk rather than act as a way to gain validation from others without actually making progress or changing their lives.
  • If you’re like this at all, stop talking. Set yourself a goal – some small habit that you want to change – and take the first step towards achieving it.

  • I think Dr. Hittelman put it best though when he said that self-esteem is the answer to the question ‘why are you worth feeding?’ Sitting down with a blank text file, heading the paper ‘why am I worth feeding?’, and unleashing your mind to write freely might create a new awareness for you.
  1. You’ll realize why you’re already worth feeding. You might become aware of something that is valuable about you, which you might have overlooked before.
  2. You’ll realize why you think you’re not worth feeding. By doing this exercise, and self-actualizing about where you think you are lacking in this department, I believe you could create positive forward-bound momentum in your life.
