[Audio] Edwin Bliss - Getting things done
Written by Craig
Monday, 17 September 2007 00:21

Edwin Bliss again delivers a great time management audio programme to respond directly to "getting the right things done". He talks about goals, goal setting and its importance as well as various other methods, facts and ideas that will help you to become a much more efficient time manager.

The summary is very short for this audio program (1 page) and the audio program its self is 2 hours and 43 minutes. The summary goal is to help you remember what you learned from the audio programme its self, so it's recommended to get a copy of the audio programme.

Edwin Bliss - Getting things done

Getting things done

  • Goals
    • Be specific about your goals – “I’d like to write a book” you can change to “I’d like to write a book about gardening”
    • Add dates to goals to make them happen
    • Cross off all goals completed
  • To-do list
  • 3 things that are added to to-do lists
    • Routine is added
    • Circumstance
    • Other people’s priorities
  • Those 3 are below your own priorities
  • Remember the 80/20 rule – 80% of things happen 20% of the time for example
  • Amount of exercise doesn’t work as good as frequency exercise
  • Benefit of exercise lasts 48 hours

Getting things done – Only useful for office environments
  • Do it, delegate it or dump it
  • Associate your desk with work, anything that isn’t work don’t do it at your desk
  • If something is unpleasant, so it right then. Worst first

The Orginal

This audio series is one of the best around regarding time management. You've read the summary and I'm sure you agree it's something worth reading further. Here's the orginal Getting Things Done available from Amazon as well as further work by Edwin Bliss that I also recommend.
